About us

Allow me to tell you a bit about me, our family and how my small business dream came to life. 

My adventure started back in 2018 in sunny South Africa when I stepped away from my career as a child rights lawyer to focus on raising my family (now a family of five). 

I crafted the first bear for my son as I wasn't ready to let go of his baby clothes, which were stashed in a box for no one to see. Friends and family loved the bear and started asking for their own. I loved designing and creating the bears so much that I decided to start a small business. Bunny & Bear came to life and blossomed into a successful venture, mainly growing through word of mouth. 

In 2022, life led us on a remarkable journey when we immigrated to the Netherlands where we are now based in Utrecht. While I briefly closed shop to settle our family into this new chapter, my dream of reopening Bunny & Bear never faded. I am grateful for the opportunity to start anew and continue doing what I love! Bunny & Bear is more than just a business for me—it's my pride and joy. I love working with families and getting glimpses into each unique journey. It’s an absolute honour to craft items that encapsulate family moments.
